| My testimony IN September 1971 joined the Regular army aged 23 married to Jeanette, and with two children Paul and Andrew. And I was not saved, but if anyone ask me I would say that Jeanette was as she took the boys to Sunday school. Just before I got saved Jeanette was in the supermarket and saw someone in uniform, he was Derrick Brooks, the Scripture Reader for (1st BR) Corps and his wife Heather was with him got chatting and ask Jeanette round for coffee. She politely said that she would try to call as she passed their home most days. One day passing their House she prayed even though she was not yet saved 'Lord, if I go to the Scripture Reader's I want Mark to go with me because I know I will be different and I want mark to change too'. IN 1979 I was ill with the flu and I ask Jeanette to nip next door and ask my S/sgt if he had any books I could read and she came back with a book called The Late Great Planet Earth' by Hall Lindsey this was the book that God used to convicted me of my Sin and the verse Ephesians 2:8. On that day 22 November 1979 I ask Jesus to forgive me for my sin and to come into my life and save me. |

There is a SASRA display Board with notes on the kind of activities I and my colleges get up to,along with a Field Service, "I look to the hills" (Psalm 121). These are some of the cards I give out to the Soldiers as I seek to win them to the lord. In the last seven years I have led many countless soldiers in a prayer of commitment,only heaven will know if they really meant what they said. "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it".(Isaiah 55:11) |
